Tammy designed many gowns and produced fashion shows featuring her designs. In 1989, The Designer studied Fashion Design at The Clarissa School of Fashion Design in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Tammy Asterino dreamed of being a fashion designer. She wanted to design women's classic suits, children's apparel and wedding gowns. She loved the styles of Coco Chanel and Geoffrey Beene's very classic, tailored look and wanted to have the success that they had. Tammy won a first place award for a Venice lace wedding gown that she designed and constructed, in a competition in The Clarissa School of Fashion Design. She then began to design wedding gowns for many clients. Tammy Asterino graduated from The Clarissa School of Fashion Design in 1992. She eventually had children and started to design clothing for them. She then started to have a love for designing children's clothing. Tammy designed and constructed many special occasion, christening, communion and flower girls dresses and sold them to private clients and to local retail boutiques. In 2002, she opened a children's boutique, 'Asterino Bambino', in which she designed and constructed a line of high quality special occasion dresses and rompers.
"I knew how important it was to design very high quality clothing and to incorporate all of the couture techniques that I learned in fashion school. I ordered many yards of beautiful printed, high quality cotton fabric and contracted my sewing labor to a manufacturer in Pennsylvania. It was a dream come true to see my designs come to life and to be able to open my own boutique." Tammy's true love for bridal has always been in her heart and soul. She has continued to design and construct very classic, modern styles and is also an expert alteration specialist in the bridal industry. She is now using her years of bridal experience by designing and manufacturing, "Design a Bride", a line of Unique Wedding Gowns, detachable skirts/trains and coordinating mix and match pieces under her label, Asterino Sposa Bridal and Asterino Sposa Intimates, a collection of elegant, upscale lingerie. Specializing in luxurious bridal robes and nightgowns.
